When we say proven system - we mean it. With over 15 years of experience professionally organising, decluttering and moving people to new homes, we’ve done & seen it all. Luckily, all these years of hard work have given us a fool proof system to ensure anyone & everyone’s home can be organised & decluttered with ease.

Here is our ‘simple 5,’ to help you, wherever you are - achieve the space of your dreams & take the stress away.

1.Start with one room, step by step. Thinking of every room in the home will overwhelm you & often, it’ll slow the process & prevent you from even starting! Tackle one room at a time. Start with the one you use the most and go from there.

2. Pull out everything. Yep, read that again. Everything! Open all the drawers, cupboards etc and take it all out. Lay it on the floor and start categorising. You need a pile for donate, discard, keep & storage. Another pro tip - condense as you go. If you have 4 of the same face washes in different bottles and they’re all half empty, condense them into 2 and discard the left overs. This opens up so much more space than you would realise. We can’t forget to mention - check your use by dates, you’ll be shocked how many items have been living in your cupboard for years and can no longer be used.

3. Okay so you have categorised and discarded anything you no longer can or want to use. Remember, always opt for donating and recycling to avoid throwing things away to landfill unnecessarily. Now it’s time to allocate. Stand back & think about the functionality of your space. Say it’s the kitchen, what do you reach for every day first? Maybe it’s the coffee, in this instance this needs to be centralised. Put your coffee pods/beans/syrups all in a draw right next to your kettle. Put your kettle right next to your mugs! Ease is what we are going for, putting things in places that make your life less stressful & make sense when it comes to putting them all away. If there’s mugs / plates etc you don’t use often - they can go up high or in those harder to reach areas because they’re not a priority item for your best spaces.

4.Okay so you have decided where everything is going to go - now, write a list of any organisational items you may need before you put it all away. Perhaps it’s containers of a certain height, a Lazy Susan, a draw divider - the list goes on. Don’t let all your hard work go to waste! Get the pieces you need, put all your items back in their allocated spot & relish in the feeling of this new streamlined, decluttered space.

5.Last but not least, keep it this way! Be super strict on putting items back where they’re supposed to be. If it’s too hard to manage during the day, set aside a 15 minute tidy morning and evening to keep things on track. Make sure to get the whole family on board. If you need to label so it’s a super easy to follow system, pull that label maker out and get stickering! Future you will thank you for it.
